The Plan of Salvation

As I was reading today in 2 Nephi chapter 2, I wanted to gain a better understanding of the Plan of Salvation, how I can apply it better in my life. I searched through lds.org I found a talk that had been given by Duane B Gerrard in the October 1997 General Conference called The Plan of Salvation: A Flight Plan for Life.

This is a great talk. He outlines the plan of salvation using the 3 flight plans uses by pilots. He outlines what we should be doing in a normal procedure, abnormal procedure and emergencies. I love that he uses his experience as a pilot to help us better understand the Plan of Salvation.

I also wanted to share my thoughts of the what I got out of from reading this chapter.

• Opposition helps us to grow and helps us to overcome trials
• We need agency, but within agency we must have:

1. freedom to choose
2. opposition
3. knowledge
4. enticings
5. consequences
6. repentance

• We were given a commandment to repent.
