I Am a Child of God

I wanted to get this down while it was still fresh in my mind. Today at church in sunday school the lesson was on the Fall. We discussed that Adam and Eve had 2 choices, 1) To multiply and replenish the earth, 2) to not partake of the tree of good and evil. We all know the choice that was taken, which Eve partaking of the fruit. What was next taught really caught my attention, was when Brother Rosanhan read from the book called The Articles of Faith. The passage that he read mentioned that the moment Eve ate the fruit her being changed. Changed from being immortal to being mortal with blood flowing through her. Now Adam knew this and so he partook so that he could be with her to fulfull God's other commandment which was to multiply and replenish the earth. With out them transgressing one of God's law they never would have known joy and pain.

We talked about the results of the fall and I wanted to list them as a reminder.
  • mortality (Moses 4:25)
  • no children (Moses 5:11)
  • knowlege
  • eternal life
  • work

Without this we could never have been. Adam and Eve would have remained in the garden forever knowing no joy or pain (2Ne 2:8). What we learned was that what Adam and Eve did was part of the Plan of Salvation. First there was the Creation, then the Fall and the Fall led to Christ and his Atonement. We must Believe in Christ, Repent and then be Baptized so that we can one day enjoy the blessing of Eternal Life.
